Applied Silicate Technologies provides licensed technology for the granular agglomeration and blending of fine particulate material such as coal, peat, and various types of biomass.

There are billions of tons of waste fuels around the world causing serious environmental problems, which could be a prime source of energy. The AST FuelForm^® patented system has revolutionized the economics of briquetting and pelletising fine particulate materials with minimum capital investment and low running costs, enabling the remediation of low grade waste coal dumps to be commercially viable.

The AST patented process uses unique environmentally sensitive chemistry to produce variable density hard-shelled, cold bonded pellets with a moisture content of less than 5%. The system requires relatively low capital investments and minimal energy (+/- 1-2 kWhrs/tonne).

AST would like to meet potential customers such as coal processors, coal mine operators and biomass fuel producers to discuss how the AST FuelForm^® system could decrease the environmental effects of their processes whilst dramatically increasing their profitability.
